
We all know that sugar and sweetened beverages affect our teeth, but these may be found in other foods too, which we consider healthy, but also can affect dental health.
We present below some of foods that may seem harmless at first our oral health.
Juices
Even if we know that juices are full of vitamins and nutrients, they may contain more sugars than sweetened beverages. The sugar level from juices can be so high that can be compared with a tooth bath in chocolate. These are the main food of dental bacteria, resulting in some acids that affect tooth enamel and tooth decay may occur later.
The solution? Use a straw to drink the juice to minimize their contact with dental surfaces. Also be aware that brushing will be done about 45 minutes after juice consumption. In this way you will protect your dental enamel from damaging.
Chewable Vitamins

They may contain hidden sugars that may promote tooth decay.
So, the advice would be to take vitamins in pill form that are not so delicious as those chewable, but will minimize the frequency of visits to the dentist.
Barbecue sauce

We all know that summer is the season of barbecue, but not everybody realizes that sweet-sour sauce used to meat maceration is very damaging for tooth enamel. This sauce contains high amount of sugars, which in prolonged contact with tooth surfaces can lead to tooth decay.
To minimize this risk it is recommended to make your brushing as soon as possible.
Dried fruit

If some fresh fruit such as apples, pears, are considered healty, dried ones are not! They do not contain any trace of water or fiber, but only sugars that surrounds our teeth leading to their destruction.
After consumption of dried fruit is advisable to realize brushing and flossing to clean as well as possible all dental surfaces.
White wine

Red wine can cause tooth staining, and indeed these really happens! White wine is not good for teeth also. The acid that contains this drink damages tooth enamel and leads to tooth decay.
The solution: eat more cheese while enjoying a glass of white wine. These food is rich in calcium, phosphorus acids and proteins that will stay away the wine from your teeth. Another solution would be to drink water after drinking wine to wash acid from the teeth.
Sport drinks

Fizzy drinks are harmful to our teeth, this is well known by everyone, but also sports drinks could not be neglected. Besides the vitamins contained in these drinks, there are added sugar and acids. An experiment done by researchers in Iowa performed on teeth which were kept in soda, juice and fresh protein juices showed that in the latter case the enamel was most affected. So if you can not give up these drinks, even drink them with a straw.
Popcorn

You love popcorn and believe that this food is harmless to your health? Know that it is not so. Besides the large number of calories, popcorn brings another disadvantage. If we could made a statistics of how many people have lost pieces of teeth while eating popcorn, the results would not have been gladdening. Shells of popcorn can easily get between the teeth and can create infections and roasted grains that are not removable and accidentally bitten can lead to tooth fracture.
Coffee

You know those brown spots that remain on the cup after drinking coffee? Then you know how it looks on your teeth after drinking coffee. Coffee stains are even more adherent than those of tobacco on tooth surface. Following a study, it found that coffee stains were cleaned brushing hardest and even teeth whitening were required to improve the appearance of teeth.
Tea

How about tea, black tea varieties can stain teeth even more than coffee. Like red wine, black tea contains a substance called tannin that favors tooth staining. Herbal or green teas contain less tannin, therefore do not lead to tooth discoloration, but can cause dental erosion more pronounced than black tea.
